What Kind of Life Are You Living?

WOW! For me, this puts my Ironman Triathlon in perspective. On one level it is definately not safe, and it is out of the box. However, I want to live a much deeper life, one of meaning, purpose and experience. I hope you all enjoy!

Finally got around to watching it. 10:30 at night. But this is true for so many of us. It's all fear. God ADHORS fear. He says to not be anxious over ANYthing...ANYTHING. And how often do we go around and do the basic, everyday, safe life sort of thing? You get out there and get risky. That's how we should be encouraging one another in our faith. "Hey man, what crazy thing have you done this week for God?" And it's hard. It is SO hard to not fear and to not live the comfy life. To put yourself out there to potentially get smacked, ridiculed, laughed at, punched, stumble and FAIL miserably. Who wants to be disgraced, right? So we just sit in our pews on Sundays, listen to the Good Word or even the Truth Project messages on Thursdays ... and then unresponsively do nothing. Because we're scared.

I'm glad you are out there doing that via triathlons. But pray for me (and my friends) that we are out there doing that for a LIFE that is so focused on being crazy for God. Like John the Baptist crazy.

wow what a great video and oh so timely. Brent and I have been visiting a church that we thought was amazing and thought we'd join. The past 2 weeks however our eyes have been opened to the fact that it's one of those churches that everyone wants to go to because it's fun. They deliver intellectual "feel good" messages, never challenging you as a Christian to do something radical. There's nothing wrong with this church, in fact its membership is RIDICULOUS, but Brent and I realized if we stay there, if we become members, we will be stagnant in our walk with the Lord. It's kind of like training for a run/marathon, or doing Toastmasters: no one REALLY wants to do it, but if you want to be better you know have to do it. No one REALLY wants to be challenged and feel guilty that they're gliding through life as a Christian, staying in their own bubble, safe in their salvation, but we know deep down that God has called us to SO MUCH MORE!
Thanks for a great post, as always.
